Calling Scripts

These are examples of scripts that we have either used in our own businesses or have been given to us to share with others.  Feel free to take them apart, add your own info or change them to suit you. If you have a script that you like and use that you'd like to share please email it to us and we'll add it here.

Script 1

This is an example of a script used to qualify your prospects.

Hello, is _________there?

Hi this is (your name) calling from (your location) How are you doing (today/tonight)?

The reason I'm calling is you visited my web site at (date and time) and requested information about working from home, correct?    If no, apologize for the call but ask them if they are looking to work from home, want to make some extra income or want to improve their health (for those in the health and wellness industry) If again they say no, say goodbye, wish them the best in what they are looking for.  If yes, move to the next question.

Great, I only have a few moments right now; but I wanted to call right away so we can exchange some basic information and set up an appointment to go over all the details later does that sound fair? If no or you get the feeling that they are not positive to move ahead, end the call.  If yes, move the next question.

I see from your response that you are looking to make (amount) dollars per month, what do you currently do for income?

(If no job, ask:  As you know, all home business do take an investment to get started.  Some cost thousands of dollars but ours usually costs only a few hundred (replace this amount if your opportunity has a different investment amount).  I'm not asking you to make any decisions right now; but, if after you get all our information and you decide you want to start making money, can you handle that type of investment in your own business?)  If no, thank them for their time and wish them the best of luck in finding what they may be looking for.  If yes, move to the next question.

Why are you looking to work from home?  (Build rapport based on answer) I

Are you seriously looking to start making money right away or are you just kicking the tires for now? If they are just looking around or you get the feeling they are not serious, you may want to either qualify that you are investing time in going over the details of this opportunity or simply end the call.  If yes, move to the next question.

Do you make your own business decisions or should I arrange for the information to be shared with you and someone else as well? (the purpose for this question is to eliminate the excuse that they can not make a decision because they need to discuss it with someone first)

I can't promise you anything yet (Name), but I am enjoying our conversation so far and I do want to get you all the details about our company in the comfort of your home on the phone so we can both see if we want to work together.  Does that sound fair? If no, then end the call. If yes, move to the next question.

(If they ask "Can you tell me about it" or if they say "What company are you working with" tell them that you want to get them all the details and you don't have 30 minutes set aside right now to get that information to them - or for those in the health and wellness industry you can use the example at the bottom of this page )

Great we do this through a 30 minute conference call where we give you all the information you need to make an educated decision.  (or replace this with how you give out your business opportunity info)  Is (date and time) or (date and time) better for you?

Let me write this down. (when you say this to them a lot of time they will write it down too and it cuts down on them not showing up)  Is (number) the best way to reach you at (time).  I will send you a confirmation email, is (email address) correct?

I hate to ask but I meet a lot of people I don't know and some of them are actually not to good at keeping appointments (might make this sound lighthearted or laugh).  (Name), I'm sure you are good at keeping appointments?

Great, if something comes up just respond to my email or call me on the number I send you so we can reschedule (or ask them to write down your number and repeat is back to you).  Otherwise I know I can depend on your being there for my call a few minutes before (time), ok?  Great, I look forward to talking to you then, have a great day/night..
----------
(If they ask "Can you tell me about it" or if they say "What company are you working with" see the proper response at the bottom of the page)

Absolutely! Have you heard of the trillion-dollar health and wellness industry?  Millions of people are living longer lives and spending trillions of dollars for better health for themselves, the family and the environment.  We give you a free training system, website and mentor so you can get some of that trillion dollars for yourself.  As I said I don't have time right now to give all the details but our call will do an awesome job of that!  All right? (this could work for any company, just replace it with a brief paragraph about your opportunity)

Script 2

Hi (Prospect)? Hi, how's it going? This is _________, I'm calling you back. (pause)

You requested some information about working from home? (pause) If not, ask them if they are looking to make additional income, looking to work from home, etc. If not and they are receptive, end the call.  If yes, move on to next question.

Great, so what can I do for you?  (pause and let them talk.don't rush)

Listen, to save us both time, I need to ask you a few questions so we can figure out what information to direct you to and how to get you there. Do you have a few minutes?  If no, ask them when a better time to connect would be.  If yes, move to the next question.

Do you have a pen and paper handy? Let me give you my name and number. (Chit chat about weather, etc while they are finding paper and a pen. remember you are trying to build a relationship)

(These are qualifying questions.)

1) Are you currently working from home? (If yes) What is it?

2) Do you work outside the home? How long? Do you love it? What do you dislike about it? (Any other questions you can think of that ties in.)

3) Are you thinking about replacing your current income or just supplementing it?

4) Are you married? Kids?

5) Have you ever been self employed or owned a home business before? (If yes), what was it? How long? (Any other questions you think of)

6) Now what level of income are you accustomed to?

7) What kind of income are you looking to generate in the next 12 months?

8) (Prospect) any business start up will entail some start up fee. With a lot of businesses out there you are looking to spend thousands, but with our company you are looking at on the low end $80 and the high end $330. Does that fit within your budget?

You know (Prospect); our company has quite a standard for the people we are looking for. There's a lot of work on our part in setting someone up in a home business successfully. So you understand, we are looking for people that are absolutely serious about building a business and making money from home. So (Prospect), How serious are you about starting a home business?

Tell me why?

Great, let me tell you a little about our company. (tell them a 2-3 sentence summary of your company)

Does that sound like a company you'd like to hear more about? If no, ask them why.  Go over the questions you learned from them.  Ask them if they'd like to find out more information about how that type of company could make that vision a reality for them.  If they still are not receptive, end the call.  If yes, go on to the next question.

Now, (Prospect) the person we are looking for has 3 main qualities (change these if you have a different set of qualities you are looking for in a team member), they are a team player, self-motivated and dependable. Do you feel you have these qualities? (this will give you an idea of how it will be to work with them and what level they are on in regard to their interest) If you don't like their answer to this question, don't be afraid to disqualify them and end the call.

Great! Then our next step is to set a time for you to listen to our company overview, and depending on what your response is to the information will determine whether or not we work together and where you fit in on our team--

Will you be available---- (give options for appointment times)-

I have you in my appointment book for (state the time and date).  If you can do the same, that would be appreciated. You have my phone number in case something comes up?  I'm reserving this time for you so if you're not able to make it please let me know.  Can you do that for me?  Great.  Ok--you take care and I will talk to you on. (Date, time).

Have a good night.
